Transmissions Quilts is producing an ambient music album in collaboration with Cone Shape Top Imprint (@coneshapetop) to explore the rich history of quilts and sound. At this special BUBBLES day we will be sharing an album teaser, imbuing your traditional sauna experience with sounds from the forthcoming album set to release this summer.
This event will include live performances from special guests, quilts and photos installed throughout the space (think: sculpture garden) and warm broth and Chè Bắp (Vietnamese Sweet Corn Pudding) provided by @vietnomnom_oakland.
You do not need to book a sauna to attend! Individual tickets are being sold at a sliding scale of $5-$25 (NOTAFLOF!) and will get you access to live performances, the gallery grounds, a Transmissions zine, the album, and the community quilting bee. Food will be sold separately with 100% of proceeds donated to a family in Gaza. Come through!!!

Arrive to your sauna slot 20 minutes early, or schedule your visit around our lineup of live performers. Performances will take place in one of GoodHot’s larger saunas, with NO heat running. They will be purposefully small, intimate gatherings and we anticipate them filling up (think: 8-10 people). Each artist is sharing work inspired by quilts, saunas and the water so please join us to experience their magic. We’ll share more about each of our performers in the days leading up to the event.
